Jason Bonham and his group (JBLZE) will play a tribute special, abbreviated four-song performance prior to Sunday's Dolphins-Bills game. The exclusive pre-game tailgate concert will begin at Noon ET.
“We’re looking forward to performing our tribute on the Land Shark Tailgate Stage at Sun Life Stadium,” said Bonham. “This South Florida appearance is a culmination of our successful 2010 tour across the U.S and Canada and will give fans a glimpse of what the full show is all about, which has truly been a labor of love for me.”
Jason Bonham was 14 years old when John Henry Bonham, his father, died on September 25, 1980. The young Bonham struggled for years to understand and cope with the passing of his famous dad and it wasn't until the Led Zeppelin drummer's death that Jason actually began playing the drums. He turned from a life of riding motorcycles to a career sitting behind a drum kit with his own bands, Foreigner, Damnocracy, and others. He'd play on Jimmy Page's Outrider solo album and do the tour and even performed with Zeppelin several times including 1988's Atlantic Records' 40th Anniversary and Zep's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.... It was literally a drum solo with four sticks: Jason Bonham thundering through "Moby Dick," from Led Zeppelin II, with his late father, John "Bonzo" Bonham, during the first set of Jason Bonham: The Led-Zeppelin Experience at New York's Best Buy Theater on November 8th. The elder Bonham appeared via audio and film clips of the drummer playing the song live with Led Zeppelin, while his son doubled and elaborated on the snare gunshots and kick-drum-and-tom bombs in synchronized real time. There was a whole lot of love shown for Jason Bonham and Led Zeppelin on Friday night in Toronto, but the connection the son of the late drummer John Bonham felt to his father was quite evident.
Traveling with an assortment of musicians on a tour called Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience, the 44-year-old drummer said how excited he was to be playing the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts before lying down on the stage. On November 2, 1969, his father played the same stage at the then known O'Keefe Centre alongside Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. [READ MORE] (Toronto Sun)

7/10/2010 - Jason Bonham on his Led Zeppelin 'Experience' (Interview)
"We got real close" to the reunion tour. For Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, the term 'supergroup' seems to follow him around like a lost puppy looking for a home. "I don't mind," the 43-year-old sticksman says. "If the word gets people's attention, that's fine. Believe me, there's worse things you could call a group than 'super.'"
Bonham is a member of one outfit that has recently had the the supergroup tag bestowed upon them, Black Country Communion, which also includes blues-rock guitarist and singer Joe Bonamassa, former Deep Purple bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes and ex-Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian. After a series of legal wranglings concerning their name (another musician claimed ownership of the Black Country moniker, resulting in the last-minute Communion addendum), the band will issue their debut album in September. Black Country Communion is a devastating head-on collision between American and British rock influences—a true supergroup that delivers a titanic rock experience greater than the sum of its supremely talented parts.
The seed for Black Country Communion was planted when legendary frontman and bass guitarist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Trapeze) and master blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa combined forces on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Center’s King of the Blues event.
The brainchild of producer Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin), the band added to its rock lineage with powerhouse drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theatre, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper). Named after the industrial area in Britain where both Hughes and Bonham were born and raised, Black Country Communion began rehearsing and recording tracks written by both Bonamassa and Hughes at Shangri-La Studios in early 2010. Their new Album, which has yet to be named, will debut in September 2010.
Jason Bonham / Robert Plant interview Jason is scheduled to be interviewed Thursday morning (May 27) @ 8.20 am 105.9 Miami - the Paul and Young Ron Show, along with Robert Plant. [Click here to listen]
Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience
April 30, 2010
Well looks like the cat is out of the bag! First off, I would like to correct the news that broke today on the world wide web. I read today that I would be performing the Led Zep story! Well, what I will be doing is 30 shows in memory of my father, as its 30 years since he left this world this September 25th, 2010.
I have always loved playing the music of Led Zeppelin and after such a great night back in 2007 at the 02 Arena, I took an opportunity to do a very special show which would look at my life with the music of Led Zeppelin. Old photos, home movies and videos would help take you on a journey into my life, from my earliest memories right up to the 02 show .
There is still a lot of work to do on this project and I want to make sure it's done tastefully and with the detail it deserves! Thanks for all the emails and good wishes and even the bad ones, it all helps, really it does. www.jblze.com
- Cheers JB
Press Release: Jason Bonham, Glenn Hughes, Derek Sherinian,
and Joe Bonamassa Form New Super Group BLACK COUNTRY
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19, 2010 - A new super group has been formed with Jason Bonham, Glenn Hughes, Joe Bonamassa and Derek Sherinian. They are calling themselves Black Country, taking their name from the industrial area in England from which Bonham and Hughes both hail. The band is currently in the studio with producer Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin) cutting tracks for an upcoming album to be released in late 2010 or early 2011.
With Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) on drums, Sherinian (Dream Theater, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper) on keyboards, Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze) on bass and vocals and Bonamassa on guitar and vocals, the band already has six tracks cut. The next recording session will take place in March and the band hopes to finish recording in early April. Shirley made the announcement on his website: "So there it is folks - the cat is out the bag! This is Black Country. The songs are all original and what a lineup. They are all the very best players in the world, for my money!"
Shirley added, "Jason Bonham is a totally unique drummer and a supreme, yet oh-so-tasty powerhouse. Derek Sherinian is super versatile, and is playing mostly overdriven Hammond organ in this ensemble and is the color on the palette. Glenn Hughes plays bass and sings with a range very, very few can even get close to, and Joe Bonamassa, perhaps the best Blues Rock guitarist around, plays hard riffing guitar as well as adding his signature vocals alongside Glenn. You'll just have to wait - we're planning to get this out late summer, and it's promising to be phenomenal!"
Recently named "The Blues Rock Titan" by Guitar World Magazine, Bonamassa's new solo album, Black Rock, will be arriving March 23, 2010. Produced by Shirley, who has produced Bonamassa's last six solo albums, it will be released on Bonamassa's own J&R Adventures label.
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the release of "Disregard of Timekeeping", we're playing a short tour for fun. Hope to add more shows in the future.
